David Gollahon - Founder & CEO
David Gollahon brings 20 years of sales, marketing and project management experience from a myriad of industries, including 10 years in the franchise advertising space. He has worked as purchasing coordinator for Blockbuster Corporations' 700+ store music division, launched his own retail operations, and provided recruiting services to Fortune 500 companies including ADP. Most recently, he spent 4 years with Landmark Communications where he launched and developed the Best Franchise Opportunities portal for Ad Engine. Working as Senior Account Executive, he drove Best Franchise Opportunities to the top tier of online franchise advertising, bringing in revenue gains of over 42% annually. In this role, he developed both an in-depth knowledge of the online lead product and the clear knowledge of his clients' needs, resources, and ability to work within the parameters of the online lead industry.
David created Franchise In-Sites as a means to bring individual clients an efficient and effective means to create, manage and analyze their franchise advertising campaigns. Through his efforts, he sees the performance of the top 25 franchise advertising portals across multiple industry verticals as the company manages over $1 million in annual media spend for the expansions of Maid Brigade, Kona Ice, Grout Doctor, FranchisESource Brands International, American Business Systems, The Franchise Authority, Maxx Merchants, Woodhouse Day Spa and a host of others. Franchise Insites also provides integrated marketing and sales functions for fully outsourced projects including IKOR.
Beth Schmitz-Biegler - Director of Client & Media Relations
Beth Schmitz-Biegler has worked in franchising since 2003 and has over fifteen years of small and entrepreneurial business experience in operations, development, marketing and networking. She has previously served in director-level positions in the fields of executive search and software development.
She brings a unique franchising background to the table, combining experience in a third-party broker network as marketing & technology director with FranNet as well as a decades old franchise system in the role of marketing director for Kitchen Tune-Up. In both environments, she directed local franchisee marketing as well as prospective franchise owner lead generation.
Beth understands the special needs and frustrations of franchise systems from the inside, having been the customer to franchise lead generation vendors for years. She is now applying that insight to assist other franchise systems in obtaining, tracking, evaluating and optimizing their own lead generation and sales efforts. With years of online and in-person training and presentation experience, Beth is able to breakdown information to clients in a way that makes sense.
With one foot in technology and the other in marketing, using her ability to work closely with both clients and vendors, Beth will help your company make the right decisions for your franchise system’s growth.
Letter From the Founder
I created Franchise In-Sites in response to what I have seen as a thorn in the side of many franchise systems…the ability, or lack thereof, to efficiently and effectively market their franchise concepts online. Many companies don’t have the budget for the trial and error involved to find good online sources. Still more companies don’t put the correct work toward their effort in regard to campaign management, content evolution, and analytics, in order to get the most out of what they pay for. They simply throw up an ad and wait for the results that they feel they deserve or they pay an advertising agency to do the exact same thing. Compounding these problems is the fact that the advertising industry is a dynamic and who had the best leads yesterday may not have the best leads today.
During the 4 years I spent developing Best Franchise Opportunities for the Ad Engine group of Landmark, I gained a very good understanding of what a portal is capable of doing for a concept. I drove Best Franchise Opportunities to the top tier of online franchise advertising by providing a dynamic level of service to my clients and working with them to make their ad campaigns as effective as possible within the capabilities of the site. I have spent the past 3 years managing franchise advertising spends for specific concepts and performing sales analytics on both my efforts and those of the portals. This has provided an intimate knowledge of what each major portal can do for a client, which portals are producing the best conversions, and what it takes to get the most out of a franchise advertising campaign.
For some concepts, the lack of sales they experience is due to problems that are further along in the sales process, whether it’s bad validation from current franchisees, a weak discovery day presentation, or even bad salesmanship. There are many steps to get to a successful franchise sale and the lead generation is only the first. It needs to be a very good step, but it won’t overcome other problems that may exist.
Franchise In-Sites was created for what I would deem “smart” franchise systems. By that I mean for companies who have a solid foundation, the right systems and staff in place, enough budget to realistically achieve their goals, and an understanding of the importance of regular tracking and reporting. We’re here to guide those companies through the maze of advertising their franchise online with customized campaigns that place their concept on the right sites, in the right packages, and at the right prices. Of equal importance, we’re here to analyze the results of the campaign and work with the client to hone their content until it produces the best results possible.
